Use this functionality to update a dataset using an external file that contains the same schema and dataset name from your project.
These updates can change the entire records or not. In the first case, the records are completely replaced by those of the external file (overwrite) In the second case, the upload can be updated by adding new records without changing the first ones (append).
This feature saves the time previously invested in uploading a new dataset and replacing all or part of the records of the target dataset with advanced queries.
How to update a dataset using advanced settings
First, note that:
- The name of the datasets must match.
- The schema of the datasets must be the same.
After double checking the source and destination elements match, select " " to upload a dataset:
- Select the file
- Select “Append” option to add these records to the existing dataset or “Overwrite” to replace all the records.
- Press "UPLOAD" to update the data.
- You’re ready!
When to define characters to separate cells?
In the case of using tabular records in linear texts like a .csv with a special format or a .txt, we can choose the character that is being used to delimit cells. For this, select "Choose separator" and select the character.
